PART 5 : Search Engine Cloaker Basics
The Search Engine Cloaker (SEC) Panel has several “Tabs” that I will try to explain in a little details. It is hugely important to understand how each tab works, and the importance of the various aspects of each tab.
As you can see above the various tabs.
We will start from the “left” and work to the right….
The “Manual” Tab:
This tab has no real setting… but it is a great place to “review” the program. Many times if you are having issues, you can come here and re-read the page and figure things out.
The biggest part of this page is the “Advanced Techniques: .htaccess Cloaking”
MANY PROBLEMS PEOPLE HAVE ARE WITH THE .HTACCESS FILE, AND THESE SETTINGS.
The corresponding setting for the .htaccess files is in the “Advanced” tab. The .htaccess file is used in conjunction with your “trigger” word.
I will briefly discuss the “trigger” word as this is a really big aspect of this program…
You will need to jump over to the “Advanced” panel….
and scroll down to “Enable .htaccess and setup Cloak Word”
I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU USE “.HTML” AS YOUR TRIGGER WORD!
Let me explain further….
What the “trigger” word does is “invoke” the “redirect”…. it is a very important thing.
Here are a few examples…. (this is a real URL)
http://www.blancosinks.us This take you to my blog.
http://www.blancosinks.us/?p=1 Takes you to the first post
So far the site works as a “real” regular blog. This is important! If you want to prevent your site from getting banned, we want it to look and feel like a real site.
But now…. we are going to invoke the “trigger”… pay close attention:
http://www.blancosinks.us/vanilla-share-is-a-great-site.html
http://www.blancosinks.us/any-key-words-from-your-install.html
When you goto the above URL’s the will “redirect” you to my “cloaked page“.
We will get a whole lot more into the components of the “cloaked page” in the future.
This is the page the “Search Engines” see! Real users will be redirected to your “money site“!
